The Robinson family is settling into a temporary home on a new planet in the months after the alien engine flung their ship into the unknown. But Maureen is desperate to find a way back to the Resolute, head to Alpha Centauri and give her kids a chance at a normal life.
John Robinson (Toby Stephens): The Robinson patriarch finds himself in increasing physical danger as the mission continues.
Maureen Robinson (Molly Parker): The Robinson matriarch is resourceful but can’t outrun her past decisions.
Judy Robinson (Taylor Russell): The Robinsons’ oldest daughter serves as a doctor for the travelers and frequently is a caretaker for the younger charges.
Penny Robinson (Mina Sundwall): The budding author is also determined to get to the bottom of who Smith really is.
Will Robinson (Maxwell Jenkins): The youngest Robinson is coming into his own, thanks to multiple near-death experiences and his bond with Robot.
June Harris/Zoe Smith (Parker Posey): After kidnapping Maureen, June remains with the Robinsons as their prisoner.
Don West (Ignacio Serricchio): A mechanic who’s very fond of his chicken, Debbie.
Robot (Brian Steele): An alien robot that’s picking up more human characteristics, including limited free will.
Jupiter 2: The Robinsons’ ship/home base, which can also be transformed into a sailboat. Resolute: The hub, which houses the humans and ships making the trip from Earth to Alpha Centauri.

1. The Robinsons recharge the Jupiter with lightning and leave the planet. They are able to dock on the now-abandoned Resolute. Eventually, other humans show up, and they learn a group has gone to a nearby planet to get resources.

2. Will and Robot are separated for much of the season, making their bond a bit more tenuous. Though Robot never hesitates to help his human friend when he’s directly in danger, Robot’s growing sense of self also means he won’t just blindly obey orders anymore.

3. Smith tries, for the most part, to be a better person (finally). She assists the family when they need an experienced sailor, works as a spy on their behalf and sacrifices herself to give the kids a better chance of escaping the seemingly doomed Resolute. But, of course, she also still can’t help but cause a whole lot of mess. She sparks mayhem on the Resolute in order to erase the footage of her time aboard “pre-growth,” leads Penny on a wild goose chase that practically kills her and poisons the man who is suspicious of her… so maybe it’s a wash.

4. The survivors realize they need to abandon ship when a robot army comes to attack the Resolute. The adults decide to put 97 children on a Jupiter with an alien engine (which can take them farther away), and then split up to buy them all time.

The kids discover that what they thought was Alpha Centauri is actually the long-missing ship, Fortuna — the shuttle that Judy’s biological father piloted two decades ago.
Is Judy’s biological father still alive? If so, what kind of relationship will he want with his daughter?
Okay, where exactly are the kids?
How many more times will the family nearly die and get saved at the last second?
With multiple robots able to bond with humans, is there hope for other robot-kind?
Smith can’t actually be dead, right?
