    Chris Hemsworth Revs Up for Another Mission as Tyler Rake in Extraction 3

    Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani are also returning as the franchise expands in a big way.

Tyler Rake’s past missions nearly killed him, but that won’t stop the former black ops mercenary from strapping on the Kevlar once again. Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, and Golshifteh Farahani will all reprise their roles in Extraction 3, and Sam Hargrave is back in the driver’s seat as director.

Produced by AGBO, the company led by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, Extraction 3 will be the newest installment in the hard-hitting Extraction franchise. 

“It’s incredibly exciting to continue our partnership with Netflix as we further expand the Extraction universe,” says Angela Russo-Otstot, Chief Creative Officer at AGBO. “It is also our privilege to continue the creative collaboration with Sam Hargrave, Chris Hemsworth, and this outstanding team who have built a stellar action franchise that has proven itself a true standout for audiences around the globe.”

Extraction originated with the graphic novel Ciudad, by Ande Parks, based on a story by Parks and the Russo brothers. Both the first film, released in 2020, and the 2023 sequel, Extraction 2, landed on Netflix’s Most Popular English Films list, with both hitting No. 1 on the Global Top 10. 

Netflix and AGBO are continuing to expand the universe with new international stories, including a series led by Omar Sy and a South Korean feature starring Don Lee, Lee Jin-uk, and Lalisa Manobal.

Plot details of Extraction 3 remain classified, but based on Tyler Rake’s past outings, you can expect nonstop action sequences playing out in locations all around the world. Check back on Tudum for the latest intel, including the release date and more casting news.
