Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer may have left everything up in the air in its shocking finale — but you can breathe a sigh of relief, because Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) isn’t the kind of guy to leave you hanging on that cliff forever. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 is here. You can watch the trailer here now.
Yes, Mickey is riding on as Los Angeles’ most dedicated defense attorney. “We are absolutely thrilled to share Season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer with the world,” say co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez. “Following the incredibly suspenseful and emotional climax of Season 3, the stakes have never been higher, because this time Mickey is the client. With his very life and reputation on the line, he’ll need the strength and support of his entire team, and his entire family, to fight for his future.”
Inspired by Michael Connelly’s bestselling novel The Law of Innocence, Humphrey and Rodriguez say Season 4 is packed with The Lincoln Lawyer’s “signature twists, along with the unique blend of suspense, humor and heart our fans love, as every character must confront not only Mickey’s predicament but their own personal challenges along the way.”
Here’s everything we know so far about The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4, including the casting of Cobie Smulders, Sasha Alexander (The Morning Show, Shameless) and Constance Zimmer (UnREAL, Entourage). “It was a joy bringing this season to life, and we cannot wait for the audience to dive in!” say Humphrey and Rodriguez.

After the bloodbath of Season 3, there’s very little we can assume about Season 4, but we do know that it consists of 10 episodes and is based on the sixth book in Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer series, The Law of Innocence.
Hopefully, the new season answers a lot of questions. What consequences will the deaths of key characters have? And — now that the police have popped open the trunk of the Lincoln — what will happen to Mickey?
“Well, the biggest cliff-hanger of all is ‘What is going to happen to Mickey?’ and that one certainly plays out across the whole season in the form of his trial,” co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey told Tudum from the Season 4 set. “But in the first episode you’ll understand at least the broad strokes of what specifically has happened and what charges — and adversaries — Mickey is facing. This is going to be the biggest and most personal challenge Mickey has ever faced, and also the biggest roller coaster we’ve yet taken our audience on. And of course, our other characters will be dealing not only with Mickey’s case but with a slew of challenges they’re facing as well. As a director, I was so happy with how the third season finale turned out, and I am also directing the opener of Season 4 so it feels like we are picking up right where we left off, which is really fun for me and also creatively very satisfying.”
Humphrey emphasizes that this is going to be the “most personal case” Mickey has ever handled since he’s the client this time. “All the advice he’s given clients over the years, now he has to give himself — and he realizes how hollow some of it sounds when you’re the one it’s bouncing off of,” says the co-showrunner who directed the first two episodes of Season 4. “He’s got to deal with how this impacts not just him but also his family and loved ones, not to mention his business! But don’t worry — he’s going to have help from some of the people our audience loves the most, as well as some familiar faces who will be cropping up along the way — some helpfully … some perhaps not so helpfully, and a few new ones as well.”

Fan favorite Garcia-Rulfo returns as Mickey Haller alongside Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco). Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson) also returns for every episode of the new season, as well as Elliott Gould (David “Legal” Siegel) and Krista Warner (Hayley Haller).
Emmy nominee Zimmer joins Season 4 in a 10-episode guest-arc as Dana Berg, a colleague of Maggie’s from her days in the LA district attorney’s office. Dana, a relentless prosecutor who will let nothing stand in the way of a guilty verdict, has a single-mindedness that earned her the nickname “Death Row Dana.” A fierce and ruthless adversary who bends the rules to her advantage, she’s the last person Mickey wants to go up against in what will be the trial of his life. Humphrey tells Tudum he’s “incredibly excited” about working with Zimmer, adding, “I shot our first scene with Constance in court, and it was fantastic!”
Best known for starring in How I Met Your Mother, and for her role as Maria Hill the Marvel cinematic universe, Cobie Smulders is also joining the cast for the fourth season, though character details are under wraps for now.
Meanwhile, Alexander will recur as the no-nonsense and intimidating FBI Agent Dawn Ruth. She and her colleagues interrupt Mickey’s dinner to not-so-subtly threaten him to drop his investigation, or else …
Kyle Richards also joins the cast as Celeste Baker. Beverly Hills fabulous, Celeste comes to Haller & Associates looking to hire Lorna as a divorce attorney, having been referred by a previous satisfied client. Then there’s Scott Lawrence, who will play Judge Stone, a former prosecutor known for his prickly attitude and tough sentencing. He’s intimidating and impatient, but ultimately his rulings seek to treat both sides equally.
Plus, Jason Butler Harner takes on the role of Detective Drucker, a seasoned robbery homicide detective with many years of investigations under his belt. He proves to be an especially determined adversary to Mickey.
Emmanuelle Chriqui plays Jeanine Ferrigno. Goodfellas by way of Glendale, Jeanine is the girlfriend of a local gangster who finds herself mixed up in a criminal enterprise, and learns information pivotal to Mickey’s defense.
Jason O’Mara joins the cast as Jack Gilroy. The current boyfriend of Mickey’s ex-wife, Maggie (Campbell), Jack is an orthopedic surgeon who’s fit, tan, and comfortable in his own skin. He specializes in sports medicine, which allows him to work with established and up-and-coming athletes in Southern California.
Additionally, Nancy Silverton makes a cameo as herself, a world-renowned chef, restaurateur, and owner of Osteria Mozza; Javon Johnson also joins the cast as Carter Gates, a hard-working business owner who turned his life around after legal troubles in his youth, but now finds himself accused of murder.
