Real Sex and the City fans know the Season 5 premiere episode well: it’s Fleet Week, and a few of the girls are showing the shored-leave sailors a good time — after all, it’s their patriotic duty, as women of New York. Upon leaving the big Navy party in Times Square, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) has a thought.
“Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back,” she muses. “Maybe you have to let go of who you were, to become who you will be.”
Similar goodbyes must be said to the six seasons of this series, as well as to the other movies and shows leaving Netflix in June. The exiting batch also includes the steamy Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, the action-packed Expendables franchise, the historical drama TURN: Washington’s Spies, and the young adult series Zoey 101.
There’s still time to revisit old favorites — or experience new hidden gems for the first time. Stop in to Kim’s Convenience, the Simu Liu-led sitcom about a Korean Canadian family that runs a corner store in Toronto. Play The Lego Movie for some laughs and that infectious track “Everything Is Awesome.” Decode clues in the crime dramas Blindspot and Aquarius. To borrow a phrase from Carrie, we can’t help but wonder how many you’ll stream before it’s too late.
Make sure to watch all these titles — and plenty more — before they leave Netflix in the US in June.
