It’s almost time for the Winter Olympics, and the new movies and shows on Netflix this week provide plenty of opportunities to start cheering for Team USA.
The three-part docuseries Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing offers an intimate look at one of the most artistically demanding events in the Olympic Games. It also introduces the American athletes Madison Chock and Evan Bates, romantic and competitive partners hoping to bring home the gold from Milan. And the documentary Miracle: The Boys of ’80 revisits the Miracle on Ice, when the 1980 US hockey team beat the USSR in the Olympic semifinals at the height of the Cold War.
Also available to stream this week are several compelling movies set at the White House, like the acclaimed romance The American President, the sci-fi flick Independence Day, and the historical drama Lee Daniels’ The Butler. For the judicially inclined, there are fresh episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer and all three seasons of the Night Court reboot.
Scroll on for all the titles coming to Netflix the week of Jan. 30 through Feb. 5.
