The chemistry between Oscar-nominated Andrew Garfield and co-star Alexandra Shipp has us coming apart at the seams in the “Green Green Dress” deleted scene from Tick, Tick… Boom!
The moment takes place after the “Boho Days” sequence in which Susan (Shipp) sneaks away from Jonathan’s (Garfield) party to get some fresh air on the rooftop. When Jonathan ventures out into the cold night air — sans coat — to check up on her and to convince her to rejoin the party, she offers him her coat, unveiling the titular, and very sensual, green dress. The dress suddenly whips Jonathan into a delightfully titillating and musical mood. “I thought you were in a hurry to get back inside?” Susan teases. Jonathan, taken aback by her beauty in the dress, responds, “Yeah, well, I’m just… I’m feeling less hurried.” And that is when the flirty goodness of the song breaks loose.
The three-minute clip follows Jonathan and Susan as they shimmy, sway and seductively circle each other with dance moves as silky smooth as the dress itself. Things get a little bit horny during an adorably choreographed moment when Jonathan impersonates a bull while Susan poses as his matador.
