On Dec. 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing 270 people. What followed was the largest murder investigation in the history of Scottish policing, into the deadliest act of terrorism on British soil. Based on the testimony of those who were there, this is the true story of the collaboration between Scottish police and US law enforcement — and the families’ quest for justice.

Yes, check it out at the top of this article. The trailer opens with the horrifying aftermath of Pan Am 103’s crash into Lockerbie. “Twenty-one countries have lost citizens in this attack,” we hear in the trailer, “so inevitably it will require an international effort.”
That international effort unfolds across the rest of the trailer, and the series itself. “Until we catch who’s responsible, who’s to say it won’t happen again?” Ed McCusker (Connor Swindells) asks. There’s a ticking clock on this inquiry, and lives are on the line.

The Bombing of Pan Am 103 releases on Netflix on July 30, 2026.
