Luckily, we have 10 series to satisfy your cravings for teen love triangles, ragtag friend groups, family mysteries, and nautical adventures. You’ll love these shows like John B loves a patterned shirt with just one button.

Blood & Water

OBX has a little bit of blood and a whole lot of water. If the mystery and family intrigue of Outer Banks drew you in, you’ll be hooked on this South African teen drama. Blood & Water follows a girl named Puleng (Ama Qamata), who transfers to an elite institution when she suspects that the school’s star swimmer is her long-lost sister who was abducted at birth. Like OBX, it’ll leave you on the edge of your seat and hitting “Next Episode” again and again.

Bloodline

Consider Bloodline a grown-up version of Outer Banks. The three seasons of this thriller drama revolve around the Rayburn siblings: local detective John (Kyle Chandler), attorney Meg (Linda Cardellini), hot-headed marina worker Kevin (Norbert Leo Butz), and Danny (Ben Mendelsohn), the black sheep of the family who stirs up mayhem when he returns to their seaside Florida town. Like Outer Banks, this show features family secrets and intrigue on the Southern coast, plus another memorable boat explosion.

Dive Club

This 12-part Australian series dives deep into all the elements Outer Banks fans love: a group of feisty teens, a fateful storm, a loved one lost at sea, and a major mystery. Teen divers Anna (Aubri Ibrag), Stevie (Sana’a Shaik), and Maddie (Miah Madden) search for their friend Izzie (Mercy Cornwall) after her mysterious disappearance, but they end up uncovering sinister secrets along the way. Scuba gear plays a big part in a few major OBX storylines too, and this show has more scuba than the My Druthers

Elite

In this Spanish drama created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, three teens from working-class backgrounds (played by Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Herrán, and Mina El Hammani) enroll in an exclusive private school and begin clashing with the wealthy students. It’s very Pogues vs. Kooks. There’s also forbidden romance and high-stakes life-and-death drama with a side of camp and pure chaos. Get schooled on all eight seasons now.

Locke & Key

Much like Outer Banks, there’s no shortage of daddy issues on this show. While Locke & Key — a three-season fantasy horror show based on the comic book series of the same name — leans more heavily into the supernatural than Outer Banks, both series are grounded in family. After their dad’s mysterious death, the Locke children, Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), move to a new home in Matheson, Massachusetts, where they discover mysterious magical keys.

On My Block

A show about four tight-knit teens navigating their lifelong friendship amid romance complications, tough family situations, and the socioeconomic realities of their hometown. Sound familiar? On My Block, a four-season dramedy, follows best friends Ruby (Jason Genao), Cesar (Diego Tinoco), Monse (Sierra Capri), and Jamal (Brett Gray) as they embark on high school life. Like Outer Banks, it features a scrappy chosen family with a lot of heart that you’ll instantly want to be a part of. Jamal even has a Goonies-esque storyline in Season 1 in which he hunts for stolen money.

Pirate Gold of Adak Island

In Outer Banks, the Pogues’ ticket to going “full Kook” is finding the $400 million that went down with the Royal Merchant shipwreck. In Pirate Gold of Adak Island, a gritty reality docuseries, a team of expert treasure hunters led by M Jackson, Burke Mitchell, Thom Spitler, and Jay Toomoth seek to unearth $300 million in pirate gold that was buried in 1892. The catch: They have to brave the harsh Alaskan wilderness and an island riddled with live munitions. Sounds even scarier than going up against Ward and Rafe.

Riverdale

If you’re looking for attractive teens, lots of twists and turns, and a dash of Kook-y subplots (pun completely intended), you’ll find it all in Riverdale. This CW show from creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is part teen soap, part crime drama, part supernatural thriller — and all wild fun. Based on the Archie comics, it centers around classic characters Archie (K.J. Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes), and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) as they try to solve murders and love triangles — sometimes quadrangles — at the same time.

Summertime

You’ll swap the Carolinas for the Adriatic Coast in this dreamy Italian romance, inspired by Federico Moccia’s Three Meters Above the Sky book series. Summertime tells the story of introverted Summer (Rebecca Coco Edogamhe) and motorcycle racer Ale (Ludovico Tersigni) as they fall in love in a beautiful beachside town, despite coming from vastly different backgrounds. Their love story gives us major John B and Sarah vibes. Plus, like Outer Banks, it’s somehow always magic hour on this show.

Surviving Summer

The Pogues have to survive summer — literally — by going toe-to-toe with greedy murderers, axe-wielding old ladies, and alligators. Surviving Summer, an Australian teen soap created by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston, has lower stakes but offers plenty of sudsy fun. After being expelled from an elite boarding school for riding a skateboard on fire through the school (a true JJ Maybank move), rebellious New York teen Summer (Sky Katz) is sent to a small surfing town in Australia where she immediately makes waves among the locals. Fans of OBX’s surfing scenes will want to drop in on this show, too.
