Are you ready for some (more) football?

In 2023, Quarterback took fans inside the huddle with some of the NFL’s best arms. In 2024, Receiver featured some of the game’s most skilled pass-catchers.

In July 2025, it’s time to run it back: Quarterback Season 2 is streaming on Netflix now, giving viewers exclusive access to three quarterbacks through the 2024–25 NFL season. This time around, the series follows three players at very different moments in their careers — from striving for a Super Bowl to starting over in a new city.

Who are the quarterbacks in Season 2 of Quarterback on Netflix?

Joe Burrow joins Quarterback Season 2 at the start of his fifth season with the Cincinnati Bengals, leading the electric, efficient offense on a team that has sky-high expectations despite a rocky start.

Over in Detroit, Jared Goff conducts the high-powered Detroit Lions offense with Vince Lombardi Trophy aspirations after their previous season ended with a narrow loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2023 NFC Championship Game.

And finally: Kirk Cousins, who left the Minnesota Vikings after a torn Achilles tendon in 2023, returns to Quarterback for a second season. Now at the helm of the Atlanta Falcons offense in his 13th NFL season, Cousins has a shot at rebuilding his legacy in a new city, new division, and new system.

What does Quarterback show about the players’ lives?

Like Season 1, Quarterback Season 2 will offer an unfiltered look at the on-field action and off-field reality of life as an NFL quarterback. That means:

  • Mic’d-up moments during every game and one practice per week
  • In-home and behind-the-scenes access to recovery, family life, and weekly routines
  • Real-time storylines, including injuries, pressure, wins, losses, and what it takes to lead a team under the lights (and in the locker room)

How was Quarterback Season 2 actually made?

Showrunner Joseph Zucco tells Tudum that earning the trust of NFL quarterbacks — and the people closest to them — is the key to unlocking the kind of rare, intimate access that defines Quarterback.

“The first step is usually a conversation between the quarterback and Peyton Manning,” Zucco says. “With Peyton as executive producer, the quarterbacks know they have one of their own on the inside, and that goes a long way towards putting them at ease with the process.”

Once a player is on board, the real work begins: building a season-long relationship between the athlete and the dedicated director assigned to their story.

“This season's Directors, Shannon Furman (Goff), Tim Rumpff (Cousins), and Steve Trout (Burrow), have an incredible amount of experience working closely with NFL players,” says Zucco. “They know how to be efficient in the capture process.  NFL players, especially quarterbacks, have tight schedules.  Proving to them early in the season that we will not waste a second of their time is vital.”

Is anyone returning in Quarterback Season 2?

Yes — Kirk Cousins is back for Season 2, making him the first player to appear in both seasons of Quarterback. In Season 1, Cousins offered viewers a look at the intense mental and physical preparation required for life under center — including neurofeedback drills, film sessions, and a record-breaking comeback. Season 2 picks up after a significant injury and career move, offering fans a rare opportunity to follow the same quarterback across teams and seasons.

In case you missed Quarterback Season 1 …

Season 1 featured some unforgettable scenes, from Cousins revealing his methods for memorizing plays, to a mic’d-up Patrick Mahomes clashing with Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. To make the eight-episode series, Mahomes, Cousins, and Marcus Mariota wore microphones during one practice per week and during every game of the season — the first time the NFL had allowed such unprecedented access to players in-season. The series showed how quarterbacks deal with wins and losses on the field and successes and setbacks at home.
