Jennifer Lopez, a longtime reigning queen of rom-coms, is back in a sexy new film with a title that says it all: Office Romance, now streaming. The summer movie follows workaholics Jackie Cruz (Lopez) — a perfectionist CEO, whose employees are scared to even breathe around — and Daniel Blanchflower (Brett Goldstein) — the company's ambitious new lawyer — who fall hard for each other at work. Despite their insatiable chemistry, the colleagues try to keep their relationship as professional as possible. But longing boardroom glances soon become raunchy island romps — and Jackie finds herself in danger of losing her company, as seen in the trailer above.

The question at the heart of Office Romance? Is risking it all for NSFW love worth jeopardizing everything you’ve built? To Goldstein, who co-wrote the romantic-comedy with Joe Kelly, that’s a mystery all workaholics need to solve.
“We always thought of Office Romance as a love letter to workaholics. These are two workaholics, and they’re both very good at their jobs. They love what they do, and that’s their favorite part of life,” he says. “But there’s an accusation that can be made against workaholics, which is that working is a way of avoiding real life. I think there’s some truth there for both of these characters. What they see in each other is a kindred spirit, and they connect over that.”
Lopez agrees, adding, “Both of them start in a place where they’re quietly content, but not fulfilled as people. They see that in each other, and they also have an admiration for each other. That’s where love always begins.”

The Office Romance cast also includes Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford, and many more. Directed by Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), the film reunites Lopez with Edward James Olmos, who famously played her father in the 1997 film Selena — he steps back into that paternal role once again. Lopez, Goldstein, and Kelly are also producers, along with Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina. Pamela Thur and Courtney Baxter are executive producers.

The charming rom-com is now streaming. Director Ol Parker fell in love with Office Romance from the moment he read the script.
“It’s contemporary and really cool,” he says. “It has a smart obstacle, and that’s really rare. I loved it.”
