When was the last time you played with blocks? For most of us, it was probably kindergarten — but for Neal Brennan, it was much more recent. In Brennan’s new special, Blocks, the stand-up comedian uses his blocks as a metaphor, moving them around the stage to help explain his issues. Sounds therapeutic, right? Maybe we could all use some blocks again.
Blocks tackles a wealth of topics, from Brennan’s relationship with his dog Keith (complicated, to say the least) to drugs, alcohol and his continuing search for true love (much less complicated). It’s a comedy special that asks that funniest of questions: Is there something seriously wrong with me? We’ve all wondered. Maybe the blocks will help with answering that question.

Brennan’s last special, 3 Mics, is currently streaming on Netflix, as is Chappelle’s Show, the notable sketch comedy series that he co-created with Dave Chappelle.
Blocks hits Netflix on Nov. 8. Get ready to build.
