Millie Bobby Brown Brought a Pet Rabbit to the ‘Enola Holmes 2’ Set

As Eleven in Stranger ThingsMillie Bobby Brown has fought off Demogorgons and faced Vecna... twice. Now, she’s putting her sleuth skills to use in Enola Holmes 2, which finds Enola running her own detective agency in the squalid streets of 19th-century London. But who does she turn to when she needs support? Meet Eeyore, Brown’s pet rabbit and constant companion on the set of Enola Holmes 2. “I personally have just a certain connection with animals, and I really do believe in animal healing,” Brown told Krista Smith in a new episode of the podcast Skip Intro. “When we first started Enola 2, I missed my family a lot so I bought a rabbit, and I took him to set every day in a stroller and I created a sanctuary for him on set with his hay, with his food and water and bed.”

“He goes everywhere with me,” Brown added. “I can’t live without him.” If you need proof, look no further than her Instagram account, where Brown recently posted a shot of herself in costume holding a very fuzzy Eeyore.

Eeyore isn’t the only animal in Brown’s life. The 18-year-old actor and producer also owns five dogs and two cats, all while fostering pets in her free time. “Three days ago, I had 13 cats and I got them all adopted, which is an amazing experience,” she said.

So, how do all these animals get along? “The dogs are fine,” she said. “Eeyore came first, so all the dogs had to adapt to Eeyore.” As for the cats, Eeyore appears to have joined their ranks. “He became an indoor rabbit. He’s litter trained. He’s completely like a cat. He wants to be on his own, but then he’ll come up for a cuddle.”

Those cuddles helped Brown tackle the next chapter in Enola’s journey, which takes the character onto a more lonely path. Enola Holmes 2 kicks off with the amateur sleuth starting her very own detective agency — but she’s struggling to find clients that will trust her with their cases. “We’re both very similar,” Brown told Queue about relating to her character, adding that they share a tendency to be “quite dry, and brutally honest.”

“The fact that I can relate to Enola helps me to constantly add more things to her because as I grow, Enola does,” she said. “Eleven in Stranger Things is so far beyond who I am, while Enola feels like I’m coming back to a place of normality and consistency. I’m able to really create her character organically.”

Expect to see that evolution in the sequel, which Brown stressed takes the story in a new direction. “The first film was about self-exploration, personal growth: A young girl loses her mother, goes to find her mother, has very misogynistic brothers, one of whom, Sherlock, is a work in progress,” Brown told Queue. “She’s on this journey of self-exploration... I loved that approach to the first film. But this film isn’t about Enola. It’s about Detective Enola Holmes.”
