Hellur! Madea’s saga continues in A Madea Homecoming, which came to Netflix on Feb. 25. Tyler Perry’s long-awaited film debuts on Netflix, marking the first Madea film since 2019’s A Madea Family Funeral. This time around, Madea and her family are reuniting to celebrate her great-grandson, Tim, who’s just graduated from college as valedictorian. But as always, a family reunion isn’t nearly as simple as it sounds.

Meet the Cast of ‘A Madea Homecoming’

There are plenty of familiar faces in this particular Madea adventure, but there are also a lot of new ones. Here’s a first look at the colorful cast.

Meet the Lovable Cast of ‘A Madea Homecoming’

Tyler Perry (Madea and Uncle Joe)

After more than three decades, the loving yet forceful matriarch, Madea, is still Tyler Perry’s most iconic role. In A Madea Homecoming, Madea’s wisdom takes center stage as she brings her family together for her great-grandson’s college graduation party. As if Madea weren’t enough, Perry also plays her brother, Joe Simmons, who offers his fair share of laugh-out-loud moments.

Perry has expanded his acting palette over the last decade, appearing in dramas like Gone Girl, action flicks like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and, most recently, the sci-fi satire Don’t Look Up

Gabrielle Dennis (Laura)

Laura, Madea’s great-granddaughter and Tim’s mother, is excited about her son’s graduation. But unbeknownst to her, Tim has more to share with her than just this milestone. Dennis has been acting for more than 25 years with no signs of slowing down. Prior to being cast in A Madea Homecoming, she played the role of Janay on The Game and has co-starred in Luke Cage, Insecure, Rosewood, The Upshaws and other TV series. Since 2019, she’s also co-starred in A Black Lady Sketch Show

Brandon Black (Tim)

Tim, Madea’s great-grandson and Laura’s son, is excited about graduating from college, but he’s feeling anxious about revealing a secret to his family. Black, who’s familiar to Netflix audiences as Kordell in Dear White People, has also appeared on various other shows including 13 Reasons Why, Insecure and Shameless.

Cassi Davis (Aunt Bam)

Cassi Davis returns to her role as Aunt Bam, the lecherous first cousin of Madea. She leans into her reputation early on in the movie, and that leads to more than a few hilarious moments. Davis has appeared in multiple Madea movies, including Boo! A Madea Halloween and Madea on the Run. She also plays the role of Ella Payne on Tyler Perry’s BET series House of Payne

Tamela Mann (Cora)

Tamela Mann picks back up her role as Cora Simmons, a lively but comparatively straight-laced part of Madea’s family. Mann has played this role on and off since the early 2000s. She’s also appeared in movies like Computer Love and Soul Santa. In the real world, she’s married to David Mann.

David Mann (Mr. Leroy Brown)

David Mann resumes his role as Mr. Leroy Brown, a loud old uncle type who’s appeared in Tyler Perry films like Meet the Browns and Madea Goes to Jail and TV series like House of Payne. In real life, his wife is Tamela Mann, who is his de facto daughter in the Madea movie franchise. In A Madea Homecoming, Mr. Brown finds himself hitting it off with Davi’s family, even if most of his hilarious interactions stem from an inability to understand what they’re talking about.

Isha Blaaker (Davi)

Isha Blaaker is a relative newcomer who previously appeared in TV series like DNA, The Flight Attendant and Red Riding Hoods. For A Madea Homecoming, he plays the role of Tim’s friend Davi, whose European family members have some hilarious interactions with Tim’s family.

Amani Atkinson (Richard)

Brendan O’Carroll (Agnes Brown)

Abrupt and loudmouthed, Agnes Brown is Davi’s great-aunt, and in some ways, she’s like an Irish version of Madea. Brendan O’Carroll plays the role, which he’s previously played in the Irish television sitcom Mrs. Brown’s Boys. He’s also appeared in films like The Van, Dick Dickman P.I. and many more. His wife, Jennifer Gibney, plays the role of Cathy Brown, Agnes’ daughter.

Jennifer Gibney (Cathy Brown)

Cathy Brown is the mostly normal second cousin of Davi, but she’s the daughter of Agnes Brown, who’s in most respects a pretty ridiculous person. Like O’Carroll, she also plays this role in Mrs. Brown’s Boys

Geneva Maccarone (Sylvia)

Sylvia is one of Laura’s close friends, but she’s been keeping a secret that could ruin their relationship. Geneva Maccarone, who used to be a Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader, has appeared in series like Chicago Med and Tell Me a Story, as well as films like The Pages of My Heart.
