Grab your backpack and your pimple cream, because Senior Year is in session. The new high school comedy stars Rebel Wilson as Stephanie, a thirtysomething woman who wakes up after 20 years in a coma caused by a cheerleading stunt gone disastrously awry. Crushed by all the years she missed, Stephanie returns to high school, intent on reclaiming both the prom queen title she believes is her due as well as her long-married high school flame, played by Justin Hartley. There are both new and familiar faces at Stephanie’s alma mater, including two of her oldest friends... and one of her biggest enemies. Here’s a look at who’s who in Senior Year

Angourie Rice

Young Stephanie (Angourie Rice)

When first we meet our cheer-tastic heroine, Stephanie, she’s still in high school and being played by Angourie Rice. After moving from Australia to the US, Young Stephanie struggled to fit in and vowed to become popular. Now that she’s cheer captain and on track to be voted prom queen, she’s become self-centered and kind of a jerk to her old friends as she strives to emulate her idol, former cheer captain Deanna Russo, who went on to marry her high school sweetheart and lives in one of the nicest and biggest houses in town.

Rebel Wilson

Stephanie (Rebel Wilson)

The aforementioned medical miracle, Rebel Wilson’s adult Stephanie is basically just an older version of Rice’s high school hellraiser — at least, at first. Emotionally a teenager, she’s still puttering around town in her Cabriolet, spitting out references to ’00s boy bands like nobody’s business and looking to snag her own Russo-style fantasy. In short, she’s got a lot to learn, and Senior Year is all about that journey.

Mary Holland

Martha (Mary Holland)

One of Stephanie’s oldest friends, Martha has grown up and taken on the job of principal at their old school. She’s made it a kinder, gentler and more equitable place, much to the dismay of Stephanie, who’s still completely and competitively status-obsessed. As a former shy, closeted lesbian who spent much of her youth trying not to reveal her authentic self, Martha is less than sympathetic to Stephanie’s plight.

Sam Richardson

Seth (Sam Richardson)

Stephanie’s other longtime bestie, Seth was once a bookish nerd who let himself be pushed around by Stephanie during their high school years, mainly because he had an enormous crush on her. All grown up now Seth works as the high school’s librarian. That crush, though? Some things never change.

Zoë Chao

Tiffany (Zoë Chao)

After causing Stephanie’s cheer accident, Tiffany went on to become prom queen in 2002 and marry Stephanie’s BMOC boyfriend, Blaine. Now, 20 years later, she’s pushing her popular influencer daughter, Bri, to become prom queen — all in service of both her own ego and her desire to see Stephanie fail.

Justin Hartley

Blaine (Justin Hartley)

Stephanie’s one-time BF who’s now hitched to Tiffany, Blaine doesn’t seem to have all that much going on upstairs. He sells Hummers now and seems to still have a bit of a soft spot for his old flame.

Jade Bender

Bri Loves (Jade Bender)

The daughter of Tiffany and Blaine, Bri Loves is a bratty, holier-than-thou influencer who rules the school with her likes and follows. She’s the perfect representation of what it means to be popular in 2022, and Stephanie struggles to understand what Bri has that puts her a cut above.

Chris Parnell

Jim Conway (Chris Parnell)

Stephanie’s long-suffering dad, Jim Conway is a hard-working man who’s just thrilled to have his daughter back in the house. He clearly loves her a lot, and he’s always there with a shoulder to cry on or a supportive pep talk.

Janet (Avantika) and Yaz (Joshua Colley)

Janet (Avantika) and Yaz (Joshua Colley)

A high school overachiever who has her eyes set on one day becoming the president of the United States, Janet is best friends with Yaz. They’re both outsiders, as well as members of the very modern, very PC cheerleading squad.

Michael Cimino

Lance (Michael Cimino)

Bri’s gender-bending boyfriend, Lance, is an influencer himself (#CoupleGoals). He floats through life, always looks great and seems to genuinely like everyone he comes in contact with.

Brandon Scott Jones

Mr. T (Brandon Scott Jones)

One of those high school teachers who’s just a little too enthusiastic about his students’ lives, Mr. T is one of the first people Stephanie meets when she returns to school. He works closely with Martha, gets to announce prom king and loves Kelly Clarkson.
