Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird have delivered messages, upturned flowerpots, and won over KPop Demon Hunters fans everywhere — and soon you can build them brick by brick.
The new LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set, available for preorder now, brings two of the film’s most lovable characters to life as an 825-piece build-and-display model. The set lets builders assemble the mischievous supernatural messenger and his watchful bird companion, then pose them together.
For Wes Talbott, Senior Design Master in the LEGO Group, the project was an instant yes. “I had already watched the movie a few times, and as soon as I heard about it, I knew I wanted to work on it,” Talbott says. “It’s just one of those stories you want to share.”

That enthusiasm helped fuel a fast-moving design process that took Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird from screen to bricks in record time. The challenge: capturing Derpy’s instantly recognizable personality — his goofy expression, rounded shape, and slightly clumsy charm — in unmistakable LEGO form.
For Derpy, who’s not exactly a talkative character, expression is everything. Builders can choose between two versions of Derpy’s face: One shows off his signature smile, and another has him deliver a love note on his tongue — just like the messages exchanged between Rumi and Jinu in the film. The LEGO design team combined carefully shaped brick-built forms with printed graphic elements to capture Derpy and Sussie’s details, including Derpy’s distinctive eyes.
“The eyes are such a big part of the character,” Talbott says. “It’s not just about the shape, but also how they sit on Derpy’s face. Even small design changes in the eyes made a big difference to how the whole character comes across.”

The final set is designed to feel as lively as the characters themselves. Derpy’s head, legs, and paws are movable, while Sussie’s neck rotates, and the feet and beak can be posed. The set also includes two love notes and a flowerpot — a nod to Derpy’s habit of causing a little chaos wherever he goes. When playtime is over, fans can store the accessories in a secret compartment inside Derpy’s head.
The completed model measures over 8.5 inches high when Sussie is perched on Derpy’s head. It can be a playful piece of KPop Demon Hunters room decor for longtime fans and anyone who wants a little supernatural K-pop charm on their shelf.
Fans can preorder the LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set now, before it hits shelves Aug. 1.
