Adam Sandler plays a down-on-his luck professional basketball scout in his new Netflix film, Hustle, but in real life it turns out he’s a superstar player. Just ask any of his castmates. Tudum, in fact, did just that on the red (well, actually blue) carpet at the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles, and Sandler received endorsements for his on-the-court skills from a number of castmates. Here are a few:
“Adam is the best,” says Juancho Hernangómez, a former NBA player who stars as a prospective superstar that Sandler’s character discovers on a scouting trip in Spain. “After long days [of shooting the film], we played bigger games. We play until our feet hurt. We play until our knees are swollen. We just keep playing.”

Others who vouched for him include Heidi Gardner, Sandler’s on-screen boss: “He’s really good.” And Queen Latifah, his on-screen wife: “Adam goes hard.” Jordan Hull, who plays his daughter, says: “There was this camera guy that was really good, I can’t lie, but probably Adam [was the best on set].”

Perhaps the only dissenter? María Botto, who plays Hernangómez’s mother, vouched for her on-screen son, naming him the best on set. “Adam and Juancho were playing all the time together, and they [didn’t] call me at all,” she jokes to Tudum.
Hustle debuts in select theaters on June 3 and on Netflix on June 8. Check out more photos from the premiere and after-party below.
