You’re Invited to a Horny, Hilarious ‘Human Resources’ Meeting

More than ever, the hormone monsters are calling the shots.

Puberty ends — thankfully — but all those hormones, emotions and urges stick around, waiting to strike. Fans of Big Mouth are all too familiar with the omnipresent, pesky cohort of monsters, mosquitoes and lovebugs that haunt Bridgeton Middle School, but now the shame wizards and hormone monstresses will finally get to tell their own stories. The spinoff series Human Resources, created and produced by Andrew Goldberg, Nick Kroll and the rest of the Big Mouth gang, draws the curtain on things like love, shame, addiction, anxiety and sex.

“What does it mean to be human?” asks the spinoff’s new teaser. “Understanding the human experience is an opportunity to discover new and innovative ways to make people more loving, logical, horny, humiliated and beyond. We are what makes a person human. We are... human resources.”

For all that talk about humanity, though, the show really centers around creatures rather than people. Expect the return of hormone monsters Maury (Kroll), Mona (Thandiwe Newton), Connie (Maya Rudolph) and Gavin (Bobby Cannavale); lovebugs Emmy (Aidy Bryant), Rochelle (Keke Palmer), Sonya (Pamela Adlon) and Walter (Brandon Kyle Goodman); and familiar faces Simon Sex (Jemaine Clement), Pete the Logic Rock (Randall Park), Tito the Anxiety Mosquito (Maria Bamford) and the Shame Wizard (David Thewlis).

To round out the department, newcomers Rosie Perez and Henry Winkler will voice Petra the Ambition Gremlin and Keith from Grief, respectively. Take a look at some snapshots of Human Resources’ finest (featuring a couple humans, too), and set a calendar alert for March 18: A very raunchy, very messy HR meeting awaits.
