Many parents know the moment all too well: All of a sudden, your child is inexplicably and insatiably obsessed with dinosaurs. And even after walking them around a natural history museum, reading them books, and bringing home excavation kits, they still talk about nothing else. All they seem to care about are the creatures who held dominion over Earth for 150 million years.

Thankfully, parents have access to many movies and TV shows to immerse their child in the delights of the prehistoric world. And whether your dino-obsessed offspring is learning their ABCs or dreaming of visiting Jurassic Park’s Isla Nublar, there’s something to stream on Netflix that will bring these long-extinct creatures back to life — onscreen, that is.

The Dinosaurs

This four-episode documentary builds on the groundwork laid in Life on Our Planet and charts the rise and fall of the dinosaurs — where they came from, why they mattered, and how they met their fate. Also narrated by Freeman, the series covers the creatures of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, from prehistoric stars to lesser-known species varying in shape and size. This biodiversity demonstrates how dinosaurs evolved across millennia in response to a volatile world.

Bad Dinosaurs

Meet the T. rex tots — little dinosaurs with big personalities and even bigger appetites. This children’s series centers on a lovably mischievous Tyrannosaurus family as they explore their colorful world, all while having plenty of slapstick fun with the silly dinosaurs who live there. Each of the eight episodes include three stories with adventures about moving into a new home, dealing with annoying neighbors, and processing feelings of jealousy and love.

Dinosaur King

Based on the popular Sega video game, this anime series introduces Max, the son of a paleontologist who stumbles upon stone tablets that bring the dinosaurs on his game cards to life. Max and his friends Rex and Zoe befriend the prehistoric creatures before they’re confronted by the Alpha Gang, who want to capture the dinosaurs for themselves. The trio then travel the globe in search of living dinosaurs to protect from the evil organization.

Dinotrux

This series has characters who are half dinosaur, half construction truck, and full-on fun. Based on Chris Gall’s book series of the same name, the Daytime Emmy Award–winning children’s series lets audiences get acquainted with Ty Rux, Dozer, Skya, and Ton–Ton — machines who are modeled after dinosaurs. They work together with Reptools — mechanical tools modeled after reptiles, of course — to build and repair various projects, especially when the antagonistic D-Structs tries to destroy them.

Gigantosaurus

This preschool series brings Jonny Duddle’s picture book to life. The show follows four young dinosaurs — the courageous Rocky, the timid Bill, the playful Tiny, and the inquisitive Mazu — as they go on adventures and explore their world, developing independence and interests along the way. As they map the stars and search for flowers, they also try to unravel the mystery about the titular creature, who is surprisingly much more helpful than he is scary.

Pinkfong Little Dino School

Pinkfong, the Korean animation company behind Baby SharkBebefinn, and Super Rescue Team, wade into prehistoric territory with Little Dino School. The musical preschool series introduces little dinosaur friends Rex, Brie, Vella, and Pete, who tell delightful stories and sing catchy tunes. Play these three episodes so your little ones can learn numbers, colors, and the ABCs from Mr. Trevor, a Triceratops teacher who is as cheerful as he is informative.

Jurassic World

The first Jurassic World movie is set on an island where guests can observe genetically engineered dinosaurs in secure habitats — well, mostly secure, until the intelligent and vicious Indominus Rex gets loose. Ethologist and raptor trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) must trap the apex predator before it becomes a security risk. A thrilling watch for older kids, the action-packed movie also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, and Irrfan Khan.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The second installment of the Jurassic World franchise picks up three years after the island was abandoned by humans. Owen and Claire reunite to rescue the dinosaurs from an erupting volcano, only to discover terrifying new breeds and a conspiracy that spells doom for the entire planet — including humanity. Jeff Goldblum reprises his role from the Jurassic Park movies, expert mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm, and Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, and James Cromwell join in on the adventure.

Jurassic World: Dominion

Jurassic World’s third chapter picks up four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, when dinosaurs roam among people. When Owen and Claire’s daughter is kidnapped by Biosyn, the world’s leading bioengineering company, they join forces with some familiar faces to take down the sinister corporation from the inside. That includes Laura Dern and Sam Neill, reprising their respective Jurassic Park roles as paleobotanist Ellie Sattler and paleontologist Alan Grant.

Jurassic World Rebirth

It’s a new crew with a new mission. A shady pharmaceutical executive hires ex-covert operative Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) to extract potentially lifesaving DNA from the largest living dinosaurs. They put together a team for this illegal expedition, head to an abandoned island research facility, and stumble upon a shipwrecked family about to become dinosaur prey. Mahershala Ali, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Rupert Friend are also in the cast.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous

Every dinosaur-loving teenager dreams of spending time at Camp Cretaceous, a state-of-the-art spot on the opposite side of the famous Isla Nublar. Six teens arrive excited to relish the rare opportunity — until Indominus Rex escapes its enclosure, and the stranded group must band together to survive. The animated show’s first season takes place during the events of the first Jurassic World movie and features the voices of Jenna Ortega, Glen Powell, and Jameela Jamil.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

In this direct sequel to the five-season Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, the “Nublar Six” are a few years older and embarking on a new expedition: to expose a global conspiracy that threatens dinosaurs and humankind alike. Everything is that much more difficult after tragedy strikes one of their own. The aged-up show’s four seasons are set both before and during the events of the third Jurassic World film, Jurassic World: Dominion.
