Goodbye, You: Final Season Lands at No. 1

Plus: HAVOC erupts on the films list, and audiences turn to The Two Popes.

Turns out the only thing harder than surviving Joe Goldberg’s love is letting him go. You (10.1 million views) returned for its fifth and final season, immediately claiming the top spot on the English TV list. Across its five seasons, You has garnered more than 500 million views. (We get it, everyone’s obsessed.) Its return also inspired fans to dive back into Season 1, which re-entered the Top 10 for the first time since February 2023. You know how it is with Joe — less “goodbye” and more “see ya later.”

Fans also got a chance to say farewell IRL with a visit to Mooney’s, and online with an early virtual fan screening

HAVOC (29.8 million views) erupted on the English film list, taking the No. 1 spot, with Tom Hardy leading a taut thriller from the director of The Raid that balances intense action with nuanced character drama. Chaos + corruption + Tom Hardy = the most watched title of the week.

Meanwhile, The Two Popes returned to the Top 10 following the death of Pope Francis on April 21. Inspired by true events, the 2019 Academy Award-winning film, about the relationship between Francis (Jonathan Pryce) and his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI (Anthony Hopkins), saw viewing increase by more than 30 times.

Two other new releases made big waves: Bullet Train Explosion (12.3 million views) and Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins (7.8 million views) each debuted in the Top 10 at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

In English TV, Ransom Canyon lassoed another 9.4 million viewers, keeping it firmly planted in the No. 2 spot. And Black Mirror’s (4.5 million views) uncanny visions of near-future tech, moral dilemma, and surreal horror continued to capture our attention at the No. 3 spot. Even as we binge, we ask ourselves: Is this really where we’re headed? Plus, WWE Raw leaped into the ring and bodyslammed its way into the Top 10, riding a surge of hype generated by WrestleMania 41, while Pulse (2 million views) continued attracting viewers with its tense unpredictability.

In non-English TVWeak Hero Class 2 (6.1 million views) built on the considerable momentum of its predecessor to take the top spot, while The Gardener (4.9 million views) and The Glass Dome (4.7 million views) each held onto their place in the Top 3.
