Noah Centineo isn’t a stranger to having all eyes on him. From To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before to Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, the actor is used to being on the radar as everyone’s Netflix crush. Now, he’s spying right back in The Recruit.

Centineo stars as Owen Hendricks, a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job gets off to a rocky start. After discovering a threatening letter by former asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), who’s planning to expose the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime, Owen finds himself entangled in a dangerous and absurd world of power politics and mischievous players. As if the stakes weren’t already high enough, he must now travel the world in hopes of completing his assignment and making a mark at the CIA. Talk about an onboarding experience.

Centineo also serves as executive producer. Keep reading for a full debrief on the espionage drama, including all the cast scoop and plot details you’ll ever need to enjoy this mission.

When is it available to watch?

Who is in the cast?

Noah Centineo leads The Recruit as dashing — if beleaguered — newbie CIA lawyer Owen. White Lines alum Laura Haddock co-stars as Max Meladze, a brilliant and unapologetically scheming Russian asset. Fivel Stewart, Colton Dunn, Aarti Mann, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Byron Mann, Angel Parker, Kaylah Zander and Vondie Curtis-Hall round out the rest of the cast as Owen’s allies, antagonists, and amorous partners.

What is the plot of The Recruit

When rookie CIA lawyer Owen meets Max, a former Russian asset accused of murder, he stumbles headfirst into the dangerous and morally gray world of espionage. Owen’s professional skills and personal ties are put to the test as he travels the globe to untangle the truth — and keep his head on his shoulders.

“He thinks he’s working as a lawyer — the truth is you’re never just a lawyer at the CIA,” Centineo tells Tudum. “There’s so many more things going on, and that’s the world we explored with The Recruit.”

Wonder how you’d fare as a recruit? Take Tudum’s CIA quiz to find out how you’d stack up against Noah himself.
