In Spiderhead, Steve (Chris Hemsworth), Jeff (Miles Teller) and Lizzy (Jurnee Smollett) dedicate their physical and interior lives to science within the luxurious yet punishing Spiderhead penitentiary. Test subjects at Spiderhead consume copious amounts of emotion-altering drugs in order to participate in the facility’s many shadowy pharmaceutical trials and avoid prison time.

But out in the real world, Spiderhead’s trio of stars couldn’t have more admiration for one another — without the need for the movie’s love drug Luvactin. Watch the cast answer rapid-fire questions to see what we mean.

“First impressions of my co-stars? Chris Hemsworth: Wow. What a good-looking guy,” says Teller. But Hemsworth, who plays “egomaniac” Steve Abnesti, the scientist experimenting on inmate Jeff, has a bit more of a spicy-sweet take on Teller. “[He’s] annoying, lovable and skillful,” Hemsworth says with a chuckle. Smollett, who portrays “sunshine”-y convict Lizzy, at least gets off easy. “[She’s] talented, warm and generous,” according to Hemsworth. Smollett was equally charmed by her Aussie co-star, saying he immediately struck her as a “hard worker.”

All that talent and skills came in handy when filming the trickiest moments throughout Spiderhead, a movie characterized by gripping turns and grisly plot twists. But Teller points out that “the Laffodil scene” was the hardest for him to shoot. Tucked in the second half of Spiderhead, the scene features an escalation of glee. Why the difficulty? “Just because we’re having to laugh on cue for a couple hours,” Teller explains. Watch the video to find out which segment Hemsworth always knew was going to be “really cool or extremely melodramatic” — and exactly what buffet-level smorgasbord Teller would choose as his final meal.
