In The Accident, a child’s birthday party is ruined — as are the lives of everyone in attendance. The Mexican drama series from Leonardo Padrón follows an upper-class couple and their tight-knit community after a bouncy-house disaster kills three children. The parents’ grief leads them to misdirect blame, plot revenge, and expose each other’s secrets — all the while asking themselves: “How could we let this happen?” For more dramas that explore dark whodunits and family fallouts, read on.

Pact of Silence

Brenda (Camila Valero) was left for dead as an infant and spent most of her childhood living on the streets. But now, she’s a successful influencer with everyone at her beck and call. And she’s determined to get revenge not only on the mother who abandoned her but also on the women who helped her get away with it. Directed by Carlos Villegas Rosales (La Reina del Sur) and written by José Vicente Spataro (Relaciones Peligrosas), the telenovela Pact of Silence also stars Adriana Louvier (¡Que Viva México!), Marimar Vega (El Juego de las Llaves), and actor-singer Litzy (Who Killed Sara?).

The Marked Heart

From The Accident creator Leonardo Padrón (Amar a Muerte), the Colombian telenovela The Marked Heart follows the twisted love triangle between Simón (Michel Brown), Camila (Ana Lucía Domínguez), and Zacarías (Sebastián Martínez). How do these three become involved in each other’s lives? Well, Simón’s wife, Valeria (Margarita Muñoz), was murdered for her heart; Camila ended up with Valeria’s heart; and Zacarías, Camila’s husband, bankrolled the theft of Valeria’s heart. Now Simón wants revenge. To read more about the cast, check out this guide

Thursday's Widows

When three wealthy men end up dead, the dangerous secrets of an esteemed gated community are exposed. Directed by Humberto Hinojosa Ozcariz (Road to Mars), the mystery series Thursday’s Widows explores the stark social hierarchy of early 2000s Mexico. The series, starring Irene Azuela (Monarca), Cassandra Ciangherotti (Los Espookys), and Sofía Sisniega (The Chosen One), is based on the novel Thursday Night Widows (Las Viudas de los Jueves) by Argentinian author Claudia Piñeiro.
