Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story star Arsema Thomas approaches an eager line of journalists at her romantic drama’s world premiere in Los Angeles. Their eyes quickly flutter to her ears, which are adorned with the most fashionable half-spoons-cum-earrings on the red carpet. Are the baubles a nod to the utensil lucky enough to be wielded by Duke Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), Bridgerton Season 1’s dashing rake love interest

“Oh my God, they should be,” Thomas, who portrays a younger version of cunning widow Lady Agatha Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) in Queen Charlotte, tells Tudum with a laugh. “It’s actually just one of those cosmic things that just happened.”

While Thomas’ jewels may not reference one of Bridgerton’s most unforgettable moments, the cast can’t help but ponder which scene from her own prequel series will get tongues wagging — and Lady Whistledown writing — in a similar manner when Queen Charlotte makes its global streaming debut on May 4.

“For sure, the music. The music in this season is amazing,” Thomas says.

Thomas’ co-stars, on the other hand, have different theories on what will cause a stir as the series reveals the love story of young Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and young King George (Corey Mylchreest). Hugh Sachs, whom Bridgerton fans will recognize as Regency era Queen Charlotte’s (Golda Rosheuvel) footman Brimsley, predicts a trip to the home goods store in fans’ futures.

“There seems to be a lot of things going on in bathtubs, so there might be a sudden rise in sales of bathtubs,” Sachs says with a knowing smile. His younger counterpart, Sam Clemmett, agrees, describing himself as “Team Bathtub.” Even Freddie Dennis, who plays the new character of Reynolds, right-hand man to young King George, is on board. He calls an upcoming Queen Charlotte bathtub scene his “favorite” and “beautiful.”

But, Dennis has more on his mind than just someone’s soak. He’s also excited for viewers to glimpse him at his most heroic. Apparently, the King’s man will be hopping on a trusty steed. “I hope that people are talking about when Reynolds rides that horse. I think that’s the best 10 seconds of the whole series,” Dennis jokes.

Dennis’ scene partner Mylchreest, however, is focused on different outdoor pursuits. “There’s some farming stuff that will be very [memorable],” he teases. While we haven’t seen young King George toiling in the fields just yet, the trailer does reveal the royal’s passion for astronomy.

No matter what scene the cast is most looking forward to sharing, they are all happy to reunite ahead of Queen Charlotte’s streaming premiere on May 4. “We’re all such close friends that getting to see everyone shine tonight is a really proud moment for me,” Clemmett says, looking around the carpet. This crew is so close, in fact, that Dennis missed having BFF Mylchreest around as he prepared for the event.

“We didn’t get ready together. We always do, but Corey had to do something else beforehand,” Dennis explains. “But we did text each other saying, ‘I miss you.’ ”
