On a historic night for combat sports — Most Valuable Promotions’ first MMA event and Netflix’s first-ever live MMA broadcast — Ngannou emerged victorious in one of the most anticipated fights on the stacked Rousey vs. Carano card. 

The matchup brought together two of MMA’s most feared knockout artists. Ngannou entered the fight with a reputation as perhaps the hardest puncher in the sport, while Lins arrived as a former PFL heavyweight champion known for his own finishing ability and durability against elite competition.

Heading into the event, Ngannou framed his return to MMA as a reclamation moment after competing in global boxing events and earning a dominant PFL Championship victory in 2024.

“While the world was busy talking, I was busy evolving,” Ngannou previously said ahead of the fight. “Silence shouldn’t be mistaken for absence — it’s the sound of a predator closing the distance.”

Lins also embraced the scale of the moment before fight night.

“To be part of the first MMA event on Netflix is going to be amazing,” Lins said ahead of the event. “We’re going to make history.”

The fight unfolded in front of a packed Intuit Dome crowd in Los Angeles as part of a blockbuster card headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano, alongside Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry.
